NEW
CURLING OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE for 2010-11 Season!
The Saint Paul Curling
Club is working with Ramsey County regarding a vacant ice arena located
1.5 miles from SPCC. The arena is being offered on a one year trial
basis as an exclusive curling facility for the 2010-2011 season, with
the opportunity to enter a long term lease.
SPCC is currently
seeking an estimate of how many curlers would be interested in
participating in curling leagues this season in the new facility. While
they are still working on the details, current plans include leagues
Monday – Friday at 5:45 PM and 8 PM.
The St. Paul Curling
Club is now operating at full capacity and has been turning away 100 +
interested curlers per year. While successful spring leagues in St. Paul
and Dakota County have provided opportunities for new Twin Cities
curlers, other promising attempts like the Edina Curling Club for “in
season” leagues have run into ice availability problems.
This is
your chance to be on the ground floor of a new curling club in St.
Paul! Help us get it rolling by registering as a team or as an
individual to be placed on a team.
We are long on
enthusiasm for this opportunity, but still short on details. Leagues
could begin as soon as early December, 2010, and following a holiday
break, continue through March, 2011.
